About Josep Foraster Trepat

Josep Foraster Trepat is a red wine from the D.O. Conca de Barberà produced by the Mas Foraster winery. It is a single-variety Trepat, as its name suggests. 

The grapes come from vineyards over 50 years old, located at an altitude of 500 metres. The soils are alluvial with a presence of limestone and clay and an abundance of rounded pebbles. After the bunches have been selected, the harvest is carried out late when the grapes are mature. 

The maceration process is carried out cold, and native yeasts are used for fermentation. Josep Foraster Trepat is aged in 300 and 500 litre French oak barrels, in which it rests for five months.

Josep Foraster Trepat 2023 is a red wine that unfolds the freshness of forest fruits with a charming subtlety, accompanied by a delicate spicy note. On the palate, its fine texture and light tannins gently envelop, while a subtle creaminess adds balance and elegance. Medium-bodied, it presents itself as delicate yet characterful, concluding with a dry finish and a hint of bitterness that invites another sip. A true reflection of the purest essence of this noble Catalan variety, well worth discovering.
