Joseph Drouhin Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is a monovarietal Chardonnay white wine from the AOC Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru produced by Joseph Drouhin.

Joseph Drouhin is a winery founded in 1880 and located in Beaune. It owns 78 hectares of vineyards distributed over various subareas in Burgundy: in Côte de Nuits, Chablis, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. For years the winery has been practicing organic farming because it understands that listening and respecting its vineyards and nature is the right way to make great wines.

The vineyards for Joseph Drouhin Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru are in the south of Beaune, in the prestigious area called Côte des Blancs, in the south of the appellation of Meursault. The soils are composed of limestone and clay, ideal for cultivating Chardonnay. The planting density is about 10,000 plants per hectare, they are pruned in Guyot style and the average yield is 45 hl/ha.

Joseph Drouhin Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is made by gently pressing the harvest to respect the fruit as much as possible. Commercial yeasts or enzymes are not used. The must is racked and fermented in French oak barrels, 25 % of which are new, and once the fermentation is finished, the wine is aged for 12 months.

2015 Joseph Drouhin Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru 2015 is a concentrated wine that is elegant on the nose. It offers reminiscences of almonds, hot bread , spices and nuts. On the palate it is broad and generous, with aromas of vanilla and citrus notes. Its aftertaste is lingering and agreeable.
