About Juan Gil Moscatel Seco

Juan Gil Moscatel Seco is a white wine from the DO Jumilla crafted by Bodega Juan Gil.

The Juan Gil winery is a historic establishment in Jumilla, founded in 1916 by Juan Gil Giménez. Presently, the winery is managed by the fourth generation. Over the years, Juan Gil has established itself as an internationally renowned winery with significant global reach.

The climate in this region is extreme and arid, characterised by a scarcity of rainfall throughout the year and an average annual temperature of 16°C. There are significant thermal variations both seasonally and diurnally. This wine is a single-varietal of Moscatel de Grano Menudo sourced from the winery's own vineyards, planted at altitudes of approximately 700-850 metres above sea level, on sandy and limestone soils with high sun exposure, which promotes perfect ripening.

Regarding the production process, vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks over 25 days at a maximum temperature of 15°C. Following this fermentation process, the wine is transferred to refrigerated tanks until bottling.

This white wine delights those who appreciate wines with significant aromatic and fruity potential.

On the nose, it is distinguished by its floral aromas, accompanied by notes of pineapple, apricot, and tropical fruit, rendering it highly aromatic. On the palate, it is flavourful and refreshing, with pronounced fruit intensity and a hint of citrus that imparts balance. Its finish is long, leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate. Juan Gil Moscatel Seco 2019 is an aromatic white wine suffused with scents of stone fruits, hints of exotic fruits, and strokes of white blossoms. On the palate, it is congenial, flavourful, and exceptionally well-balanced. It exhibits a compelling acidity and a delightful, crisp progression.

The palate is broad, smooth, cool and dry, with a prominence of citrus notes. Excellent acidity. Long finish that leaves delicious herbaceous and fruity sensations.



Pale yellow with greenish hues. Very clean and bright.



The nose is intense, clean and expressive. Notes of white, yellow, tropical and citrus fruits with subtle floral and aniseed notes appear.
2013 This white wine is broad, velvety, fresh and dry, with a notable citric presence. Excellent acidity. Long, with a good finish that leaves us with pleasant herbal and fruity sensations.

Intensely aromatic, clean and expressive. Lots of white, yellow, tropical and citrus fruits with light floral notes and aniseed touches.
2012 This white wine shows broad attack, and is unctuous, fresh and dry on the palate, with a high concentration of citrus notes. Excellent acidity. Long, with a good finish leaving nice fruity, herbal sensations.

2011 Very fresh and tasty wine, with a wide attack in which it coats the palate with notes of fresh fruit with a strong presence of citrus. Good, velvety and dry mid palate, with an excellent acidity. Long and good finish that leaves nice and pleasant sensations.

Nice bright yellow colour with green reflections. Very clean.

Fresh aromas with a wide range of notes of stone fruits (lots of peach aromas) and tropical fruits along with intense citrus hints. Elegant floral background (white flowers like orange blossom and jasmine).
