About Juan Gil Rosado

Juan Gil Rosado is a barrel-aged rosé wine crafted by Juan Gil using syrah and petit verdot varieties in the DO Jumilla region (Murcia).

Juan Gil is the result of four generations, beginning in 1916 when Juan Gil Jiménez established a small winery in the heart of Jumilla (Murcia). Following him, his son Juan Gil Guerrero and his grandsons Juan and Paco Gil González continued the legacy, transforming it into a benchmark company in the production of the native monastrell variety.

Juan Gil Rosado originates from the Juan Gil estate. These vineyards are situated at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level, planted on sandy-loam and calcareous soils that are very low in nutrients. Although close to the Mediterranean Sea, the vines are subjected to a continental climate, with sharp temperature fluctuations between day and night, resulting in small, highly concentrated grapes.

In the winery, the grapes for Juan Gil Rosado are fermented in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature below 18°C. Once the process is complete, the wine is aged for several months in French oak barrels before being bottled.

In recent times, rosé from Jumilla has been gaining significant international success. An example of this is Juan Gil Rosado, a fresh and full-bodied wine that is perfect for enjoying all year round.
