About Juan Gil Yellow Label 4 Meses

Miguel Gil Vera was an engineer, descended from a winemaking family, working in Seville on the assembly line of an aircraft factory. Originally from Jumilla, his life took a turn one day when he received the opportunity to return to his homeland to work as an engineer at a winery. It was the 1990s. After discussing it with his wife and giving it much thought, his roots ultimately prevailed, and the entire family returned to the village. What initially seemed promising eventually turned into an unpleasant experience, where things went "so-so" (resignation included). After several months of reflection, Miguel called his brother Ángel and made him a proposal: to re-establish the family winery. This duo was joined by their other seven siblings. Since that moment, about twenty years ago, the Juan Gil wineries have become an unstoppable business with wines like Juan Gil Etiqueta Amarilla 4 Meses

Juan Gil Etiqueta Amarilla 4 Meses is a single-varietal wine aged for approximately four months in French and American oak barrels, originating from old vineyards over 40 years old. Specifically, the monastrell vines are situated at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level on sandy, limestone, and stony soils. These soils in the DO Jumilla are notably low in nutrients, with a high water retention capacity. This is extremely beneficial, considering the harsh climate of this region, with very dry winters and summers, and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night.

Juan Gil Etiqueta Amarilla 4 Meses is harvested manually and brought to the winery, where the grape clusters are placed in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Finally, Juan Gil Etiqueta Amarilla 4 Meses completes fermentation and is transferred to French oak barrels where it will rest for less than six months.
