About Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay

Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine produced by the Kumeu River winery in the Hawke’s Bay denomination in New Zealand.

Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay is made from selected grapes that come from six different plots in the Kumeu region. They are harvested manually and the clusters are pressed whole when they reach the winery. All the must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in barrels with native yeasts. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for around 11 months in barrels.

Kumeu River, the Brajkovich family winery, has been working its vineyards since 1944, and they have grown over time along with the wine industry in New Zealand. The Brajkovich winery has positioned itself among the world-class wine producers and have gained an international reputation for their Chardonnay wines, reaching the standards of some of the most famous and renowned French whites.

2016 Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay 2016 is a white wine with aromas of ripe peaches and nectarines on the nose, accompanied by notes of walnuts. On the palate it is creamy, with a flexible texture and exquisite acidity. Perfect for opening straight away but will also keep well for five years or more.
