About La Biancara Sassaia Veneto

Nowadays, natural wine is in vogue, but back in 1988, when Angiolino Maule began exploring low-intervention wines, many were sceptical of his endeavour. Nonetheless, his passion and vision led him to establish La Biancara, a winery located in Veneto (Italy) that is now synonymous with authenticity and respect for nature. With such credentials, it is no surprise that he is also the president and founder of VinNatur, a movement that emerged in 2006 with the mission to produce wines that truly reflect the terroir of their land, with minimal environmental impact.

One of the most representative wines is La Biancara Sassaia Veneto, a white that bears the personal hallmark of Angiolino. This garganega from Veneto is the pure expression of his philosophy: a fresh, elegant, and easy-to-drink wine, yet without compromising its character and quality. Fermented spontaneously, with a brief contact with the skins, it offers a delicate fragrance and a unique taste. After fermentation, the wine rests for ten months in large oak barrels, imparting a subtle yet elegant complexity.

But the most remarkable aspect is that La Biancara Sassaia Veneto contains no added sulphites, making it even more genuine and natural. This is Angiolino Maule's entry-level wine. A wine that invites you to drink endlessly, with its freshness and flavour enveloping you with every sip. La Biancara Sassaia Veneto 2016 boasts an enticing deep straw-yellow hue. On the nose, ripe fruit notes, particularly peach, are prominent, accompanied by subtle mineral nuances and a delicate hint of ash. On the palate, it reveals depth and harmony, with a creamy texture that lends consistency and persistence.
