About La Trucha

La Trucha is a white wine produced by the winery Finca Garabelos in Crecente (Pontevedra), within the Rías Baixas region.

Finca Garabelos is a winery located in Vilar, Crecente, dedicated to crafting high-quality white wines from Albariño grapes grown in their own vineyards situated in the Condado de Tea subzone. Owned by José Alonso, the winery benefits from the expertise of oenologist José Estévez.

Through the wines of Finca Garabelos, José Alonso aims to bring high-quality Galician white wines to a broad audience and across generations, creating a wine profile that embodies the distinct character of the Albariño variety and the unique personality imparted by the terroir.

La Trucha is a white wine made from Albariño grapes sourced from their own vineyards, aged between 25 and 40 years, situated at altitudes ranging from 200 to 350 metres on the right bank of the Miño River.

The harvest is conducted manually with grape selection in the vineyard. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed before pressing, and the resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. After fermentation, the wine rests on its fine lees for 3 to 6 months until bottling.

2017 La Trucha 2017 is a sweet, fresh and unctuous white wine. This vintage reveals all the fragrance of albariño on the nose, with aromas of white fruit with apricot, peach or pineapple, floral notes and a slight mineral touch. On the palate it is lively, with a good mid-palate and a fresh finish.
