About Laus Garnacha Barrica

Laus Garnacha Barrica is a wine produced by Laus wineries in the northeastern part of Spain, in the Somontano Designation of Origin (Huesca). Specifically, Laus Garnacha Barrica is a Grenache wine that has undergone four months of aging in French and American oak barrels.

The relationship between wood and wine is something historical. This material, easy to work with and resistant, is beneficial for wines (especially oak). Specifically, the latter species grows in all corners of France, and although there is increasing experimentation with acacia or chestnut, oak remains the classic choice that stabilizes wines and smoothens their texture.

In the case of Laus Garnacha Barrica, this is the final touch that adds that special note where the perfect balance between fruit and wood is achieved. In this way, aging becomes essential after fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, which each variety undergoes separately in the winery. There is nothing better to tame and soften the grapes that grow in the limestone and gypsum soils typical of this appellation, located between 350 and 400 meters above sea level (and under a dry and warm climate).

Laus Tinto Barrica 2019 ist ein konzentrierter Rotwein von kirschroter Farbe mit violetten und roten Nuancen. Die Nase ist intensiv, mit Aromen von roten Früchten, Nüssen (Haselnüsse, geröstete Mandeln), Rauch, Toffee und Gewürzen. Am Gaumen ist er süffig und fruchtig, füllig und süß, mit Röst- und Gewürzaromen. Weiche Tannine. Sehr angenehm.
