About Le Coste Litrozzo Bianco

This wine is sold in a 1 litre bottle with a label showing a drawing of two people drinking it in one go. So, it’s clear to see that Le Coste Litrozzo Bianco is a wine for thirsty people. Its creators, Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clémentine Bouveron, are far from conventional in any way. This wine is made as a tribute to wines made the way they used to be, using old varieties and ancient methods. However, it should be noted that, although the wine is purely Roman, specifically from Gradoli, a town in Lazio, the truth is that it all began in Alsace, when this couple fell in love with the terroirs, climates, culture and people they met at maestro Schueller’s house and began a romantic and professional relationship based in Gianmarco’s hometown. With a total of 14 hectares of land growing vines, olive trees, chestnut trees, bushes and oak trees all together, they produce a fascinating collection of natural, energetic and holistic wines at the foot of Lago di Bolsena under the name Le Coste.

Le Coste Litrozzo Bianco is a blend of the Procanico and Malvasía native varieties, with a touch of Roscetto, Petino and Romanesco. These vines are 20 years old, on average, and planted in volcanic soils that are rich in iron and minerals. Everything is done by hand, paying careful attention to the needs of each plant and avoiding the use of chemicals. Their methods are organic and biodynamic and when the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are taken to the winery in the centre of the village. There, they undergo a direct pressing with alcoholic fermentation using native yeasts in concrete tanks and no additives are used at any point in the process. The wine then spends 9 months in fibreglass tanks and is finally bottled in 1 litre bottles, unfiltered, unclarified and without added sulphites.

Pure and delicious, Le Coste Litrozzo Bianco is the result of the passion and dedication that this couple has put into the project. An innovative winery that produces a dizzying number of different wines and that is earning respect in the world of the most unconventional viticulture.

2020

Le Coste Litrozzo Bianco 2020 is an aromatic white wine with citrus fragrances, notes of ripe stone fruit and hints of almond spice. On the palate it is wild, fresh and citric. A real thirst-quenching wine that is energetic and very easy to drink with vibrant acidity.
