About Legaris Rosado

There seems to be an ever-closer relationship between wine and architecture. There are already many wineries that take advantage of their idyllic surroundings to build designer facilities that bring in tourists. However, this has to be without losing sight of the main objective of producing quality wines. Talking about Legaris, a winery located in Curiel de Duero (Valladolid) and owned by the Codorníu Raventós group, construction began in 1999 with the aim of promoting wine culture. A modern building that is perfectly integrated into its environment with large windows that allow the use of natural light, but their main focus is the 93 hectares of vineyards used to make wines that clearly express their Ribera del Duero origin.

The vineyards used to make Legaris Rosado are located at the foot of the Duero River. These are Tempranillo vines, Ribera del Duero’s leading native variety. They are cultivated in the traditional way to create the winery’s first rosé. Once the grapes have reached optimum ripeness, harvesting is carried out mechanically and early in the morning to ensure the grapes are harvested quickly and at low temperatures. In the winery, they are selected, destemmed and vatted in stainless steel tanks to begin drawing off. The wine is then racked through flotation and fermentation begins at a low temperature with selected yeasts for about 4 weeks. Finally, the wine is racked and remains on its lees for 3 months.
