About Leirana Finca Genoveva

Leirana Finca Genoveva is a white wine from Rías Baixas, prepared by Forges del Salnés (Pontevedra).

This is a small family owned winery under the hand of Rodrigo Mendez, grandson of Francisco Méndez, one of the founders of Rías Baixas. The winery also has the support of the famous Spanish winemaker, Raul Perez.

Leirana Finca Genoveva is a varietal Albariño. The grapes come from a single farm, Finca Genoveva, from old vines over 150 years old.

To prepare Leirana Finca Genoveva a harvest and manual selection is made. The wine is made in the traditional way, with minimal intervention in the process to keep the whole expression of the vineyard.

Once fermented, Leirana Finca Genoveva ages for 12 months in oak foudres.

2017 Leirana Finca Genoveva 2017 is a deep and mineral white wine. This vintage displays an excellent balance between maturity and freshness. Aromas of white stone fruit, with citrus notes over an elegant mineral base note. On the palate it is fluid, with a good volume and a fresh and lingering finish.
