About Les Sorts Blanc

There are regions that are tightly rooted in a winemaking heritage. In Montsant (Catalonia), generation after generation, families have cultivated vineyards on the steep slopes of Priorat, taking advantage of the unique terroir conditions. An unbreakable bond with the land and the people that the Celler Masroig winery has managed to keep intact. Founded in 1917, they currently have around 500 hectares of their own vineyards, making it the largest winery in the denomination.

With a wide range of young and barrel-aged wines, Les Sorts Blanc is a very good representative. A white wine made with the Garnacha Blanca variety from 50-year-old vines planted in stony soils and which, under the influence of the Mediterranean climate, produces a concentrated grape with a high alcohol content. In the winery, the best grapes are selected, destemmed and gently crushed. The resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with the lees. Finally, the wine is aged on its lees for 5 months in oak barrels before being bottled.

Les Sorts Blanc represents the soul of El Masroig. An example of how constant effort and dedication can bring the fruits of a community’s labour to the attention and appreciation of the rest of the world.

2022

Les Sorts Blanc 2022 is a creamy white wine with aromas of white flowers, citrus notes and hints of honey and toast. On the palate it is voluminous, fresh and rounded. A varietal wine with balanced acidity, an unctuous mid-palate and a long and pleasant finish.
2008 This wine is dry, intense, fresh and with some sour note.

A pale yellow color with green notes, very bright.

Very aromatic with floral notes, some notes of white fruit and butter.
