Losada 2022 exhibits a deep cherry red hue with reddish highlights, enticing one to savour it before each sip. On the nose, aromas of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry are discernible, intermingling with delicate smoky and toasted nuances resulting from its ageing. About Losada

In every esteemed winery, there is always a flagship wine. At Losada Vinos de Finca, they boast the iconic Losada. 
 
Hailing from Cacabelos, situated in the western part of the province of León, this red wine is crafted from mencía, the most typical and renowned variety of the DO Bierzo. Here, in this locale, the winery has discovered ancient vineyards, over 40 years old, thriving on clayey slopes ranging from 480 to 600 metres in altitude. This detail is quite significant and distinctive, as most vineyards in this area grow on slate soils, resulting in a profile of the mencía that is entirely unexpected. 
 
However, this is not the only intriguing aspect of Losada, as this red wine, even during its harvest, has noteworthy features, such as the meticulous assessment of the ripeness of the grape clusters, plot by plot. This means that not all grapes will be harvested simultaneously, as only those in optimal condition will be selected. Once at the Losada winery, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, creating the must that is left to macerate for 25 to 30 days. After this period, Losada is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it will undergo fermentation with indigenous yeasts. From there, upon completion of the process, it will be moved to French oak barrels, where it will undergo malolactic fermentation and age for 12 months.

Losada 2021 is a highly floral red wine, with plum aromas and appealing toasted notes. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with refined tannins and balanced acidity. Its concentrated and well-structured profile makes it very pleasing to the taste.
2020

Losada 2020 unfurls on the nose with a spectrum of scents, where the notes of ripe cherries and raspberries are prominent, interwoven with a subtle hint of oak. On the palate, it introduces itself with a crisp and velvety onset, unveiling a full-bodied and well-structured character. The finish is rich and lingering, leaving an enduring impression of its Bierzo provenance. This red wine is an embodiment of vivacity and fruitiness, with a depth that speaks volumes of its terroir.
2011 Fresh and silky entry. Great body and structure. Large and persistent.

Cherry red with red reflections. Clean, bright and deep.

Fruit flavours, presence of red fruit and notes of aging.
2008 Great red wine with an excellent long mid palate, very bulky and highly tasty. Silky and fresh palate, in which the notes felt on the nose are released again and become very expressive. Lots of fruit and creamy and even mellow notes provided by the ageing are felt on a subtle mineral and earthy background. It has an excellent, well balanced acidity and elegant, well integrated tannins which are still quite noticeable. Long and very persistent finish.

Bright cherry red colour with intense purple reflections and a medium-high robe. Abundant thick slow-falling tears which stain the glass slightly.

On its great balsamic background with intense floral aromas, abundant notes of red fruit are released along with some notes of black fruit and a wide range of spices and noble toasted hints wrapped in very creamy aromas. Some hints of coffee, toffee and leather are also noticed.
2007 Step elegant, full-bodied, where fruit and tannin is present. The acidity is present with subtlety and elegance becomes the essential feature of the house.
