About Luis Alegre Parcela Nº 5

Parcela Nº 5 is an ecological red wine from La Rioja produced by Bodegas Luis Alegre. This is a single varietal Tempranillo, a classic variety of the region.

The grapes come from vines over 45 years old located in the Rihondillo Villa, in the Natural Park of Las Lagunas de Laguardia.

For the cultivation of the vineyards, no synthetic chemicals are used, the soils are limestone and stony, encouraging the grapes to grow with a great personality.

The harvest is manual and the clusters are selected. After this, grapes are fermented and macerated with their skins for at least 20 days in stainless steel conical tanks of 7,000 kilos. After this process, Parcela Nº 5 passes into chosen barrels of French and American oak without any filtration, where it remains for about 14 months.

Parcela Nº 5 is finally bottled after a slight filtration and lies for about 6 or 8 months in bottle before being marketed.

2010 The entry is voluminous and tasty, harmonious and fresh. Good acidity, tannins are ripe and deep. The finish is long and pleasant with toasty notes.

Lucid and bright cherry with some purple hues.

High intensity. Spicy and intense balsamic notes accompanying notes of red fruits. Touches of wood and mineral background.
2009 After a bulky attack, this wine shows a tasty, balanced and fresh palate. It has a nice, sharp and integrated acidity, noticeable, but ripe, polished tannins and a long, pleasant finish with an aftertaste of persistent nicely toasted notes.

A cherry colour. Intense, bright and very lively, with slight violet reflections.

A highly intense and very fragrant nose. Ripe red fruit is accompanied by spices, intense balsamic notes, fine wood and a deep mineral background.
2008 After a bulky attack, this wine shows a tasty, harmonious and fresh mid palate. It shows a good, sharp and integrated acidity, noticeable, but ripe and polished tannins and a long, pleasant finish with an aftertaste of highly persistent nice toasted notes.

Intense and bright, very lively, dark cherry colour with subtle violet reflections.

Highly intense and very fragrant nose. Its notes of very ripe red fruits are released along with spicy nuances, intense balsamic notes, noble wood and a background of deep mineral aromas.
