About Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco

Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco is a white wine coupage of the Rabigato, Larinho, Gouveio and Viosinho varieties, produced by the Luis Seabra winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal.

The varieties used to make the Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco wine come from thirty-year-old plots with shale soils, located at 500 metres above sea level. When they reach the winery, they ferment in different sized used barrels with a small amount in stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine ages for 12 months in used barrels.

In 2012, Luis Seabra decided to leave his position as a winemaker at the Niepoort winery to devote himself to making his own wine with the aim of offering “raw” elaborations that express where they come from. These are true, honest, pure wines from specific vineyards that are cultivated with minimum intervention.

Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco is a white wine that encapsulates the landscape, the essence provided by the unlimited shales (Xisto Ilimitado) that cover the high vineyards of the Douro Valley.

Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco 2020 is an exquisite white wine. Olfactorily, it is highly aromatic, emanating scents of red and blue fruits, damp slate, and violets. On the palate, it is lush, boasting a harmoniously balanced acidity, infused with flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, white pepper, and cocoa.
2018 Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Blanco 2018 is a white wine with intensity on the nose and notes of tropical fruits. On the palate it is juicy and concentrated, with a subtle mineral note. It is long-lasting with a lingering aftertaste.
