About Luna Gaia Maganza Zibbibo

There are things that may be lost to time. Yet, others, due to their intrinsic value, transcend generations, reminding us of who we are and where we come from. The Sicilian Opera dei Pupi, a theatrical puppet tradition recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, has breathed life into tales of honour, love, and battle for centuries. Inspired by this heritage, Luna Gaia, the biodynamic project born from the collaboration between Cantina Orsogna and BioGaia, pays tribute to this tradition with each of its labels. Their wines rekindle the spirit of "Orlando Furioso", one of the most celebrated chivalric works of the Renaissance, where passion and destiny are interwoven in a timeless narrative.

This very essence is captured in Luna Gaia Maganza Zibibbo, a white wine crafted from zibibbo (also known as moscato d'Alessandria), a grape with ancient roots. Cultivated in calcareous soils at 50 metres above sea level and certified as Demeter biodynamic, it is hand-harvested with the utmost respect for the land. In the winery, fermentation occurs spontaneously, without added yeasts, preserving the purity of its character. The wine then rests for four months on lees, refining its texture and complexity before bottling.

The result is Luna Gaia Maganza Zibibbo, a fresh, aromatic, and vibrant wine that exudes the Mediterranean. It is a journey to a place where art, nature, and tradition merge in a single moment.

Luna Gaia Maganza Zibbibo 2023 boasts a captivating aromatic profile, with prominent notes of white flowers and honeysuckle, accompanied by fresh Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, this wine is light and well-balanced, featuring flavours of ripe peach and candied orange peel, along with subtle hints of mango. Its finish is marked by a pleasant saline note that complements the freshness of its acidity, making this wine a refreshing and aromatic choice.
