About Lynus Origen

The Bodegas Lynus winery produces Lynus Origen wine with the Tempranillo variety cultivated in the different terroirs of the D.O. Ribera de Duero

Created in 1999, Lynus Viñedos y Bodegas is a young family business that has an annual production of some 60,000 bottles produced with its own grapes. The name Lynus, inspired by Greek mythology, represents harmony and rhythm; qualities they strive to reflect in these wines that seek the maximum expression of Tempranillo, also known as Tinto Fino.

All the Lynus grapes come from the Roldán Pago: a stony soil, 820 metres above sea level and with a North-South orientation. As a result, slow and powerful ripenings are obtained that are harvested manually into boxes at the optimum moment of ripening with bunch selection.

In the winery a pre-fermentative cold maceration and a malolactic fermentation are carried out in the barrel. Lynus then undergoes ageing for 12 to 14 months in extra fine grain and medium roasted French oak barrels.

Lynus, the benchmark wine of this young winery, represents the personality of the project. A powerful and full-bodied Tempranillo grape that defines a whole Denomination of Origin.

Lynus Origen 2020 unfurls with grace on the nose, presenting a spectrum of scents where ripe cherries and blackberries are prominent, interwoven with delicate hints of violets. One also discerns spicy nuances of pepper, accompanied by an undertone of tobacco and toasted oak, which enrich its aromatic profile. On the palate, it impresses with its harmony and structure, initiating with a congenial approach that progresses towards a subtly bitter finish, contributing to its freshness and vivacity. Its saline mineral character renders it particularly intricate and intense, leaving an enduring impression.
2016 Lynus 2016 is an elegant and complex wine with fruity and floral tones and memories of tobacco, pepper and light toast. It has a good entry onto the palate, and is balanced, persistent and lively.
