About Maison Orcia Saint Véran

French wine regions are many and varied, but if there is one thing Maison Orcia wines have in common, it is that each of them reflects a likeness to its denomination of origin. The man responsible for this collection of gourmet wines that dazzle in look, taste and price is Jean Philippe Manchès, a winemaker who has no qualms about embarking on new projects where terroir is the main protagonist. Trained at the wine university of Suze la Rousse and creator of a liqueur brand known as Akymia alongside his brother, Maison Orcia is the wine trading company he set up in the family home with his brother and father with the aim of unearthing the best winegrowers and discovering wine estates that reflect the quintessence of France’s terroirs.

Within a varied and representative catalogue, we find Maison Orcia Saint Véran, a single-variety wine made from Burgundy’s star white grape variety, Chardonnay. The vines are planted on calcareous soils in the Mâconnais sub-region and are part of the AOC Saint Véran. Traditional cultivation is practiced and, when the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are carefully harvested. In the winery, the grapes are selected, destemmed and gently pressed, and the resulting must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and remains on the lees to allow the wine to finish rounding off.

Considering that Burgundy is one of the most emblematic wine regions in France, Maison Orcia Saint Véran is the perfect wine to start enjoying all that this area has to offer. A fruity, fresh and mineral white wine that stands out for a pleasant aromatic range and a very affordable price.
