There are places where time seems to stand still and wine becomes the voice of the land. Such is La Capilla, the boutique estate marking the venture of Marqués de Cáceres into the D.O. Ribera del Duero. A project born in 1998 that today, in Roa (Burgos, Spain), represents a new expression of this legendary winery: loyal to its roots, yet confidently embracing modern times.
Since 1970, Marqués de Cáceres has been synonymous with elegance and precision in Rioja. Yet also with boldness: transforming its classic image into a more liberated, authentic, and contemporary philosophy. Its story remains vibrant under the stewardship of Cristina Forner, who has masterfully blended respect for origins with an open, approachable, and resolute outlook. In Ribera del Duero, this vision translates into wines that not only honour the land but also those who enjoy them.
Marqués de Cáceres La Capilla Crianza is a delicately crafted masterpiece. A red wine born from estate vineyards in Roa, Anguix, and La Horra, where poor and heterogeneous soils—silty sands, limestone layers, and clays—impart character, finesse, and depth. Crafted with tinta del país (tempranillo) and a touch of merlot, this wine is vinified with care: manual harvesting in small batches, fermentation with native yeasts, gentle macerations, and malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. After 15 months in wood and up to 20 in bottle, the result is a vibrant, structured, and elegant red, combining power, freshness, and a seductive fruit intensity.
Marqués de Cáceres La Capilla Crianza invites you to enjoy without complications, yet with style. For there are wines that adapt to your way of life, that respect your rhythm and accompany you in everyday moments with the grandeur of authenticity. This is Ribera del Duero according to Marqués de Cáceres: self-assured, approachable, and wonderfully free.
