About Martinet Bru
For Sara Pérez, daughter of Josep Lluís Pérez, one of the great pioneers of the new Priorat, winemaking transcends mere production. To her, viniculture is a personal journey of connection with the plant, animal, and human environment. She seeks to understand the life cycles involved in each process and her place within them. Approaching viniculture from an existential perspective, it is not just about creating wine, but a path of reflection on the world around us.
A clear example of this philosophy is Martinet Bru, the second wine from Mas Martinet, which presents a calmer and more accessible facet of Priorat wines. Crafted with a blend of Garnacha and Syrah, Martinet Bru originates from the Mas Torrent estate, where the slate soils and the influence of the garbinada (a refreshing sea breeze) promote a slow and extended ripening of the grapes, resulting in a more balanced and approachable wine.
The vinification of Martinet Bru is carried out with utmost delicacy, macerating and fermenting the must in concrete vats alongside its lees, employing gentle and brief washings. Subsequently, the wine matures in 4000-litre vats and 300-litre French oak barrels, which impart structure and complexity. Finally, this wine is bottled without fining, preserving its purity and natural character.
Martinet Bru is the gateway to Priorat, a wine emblematic of modern times, more accessible in every sense, yet without losing the essence of the terroir and Mas Martinet's commitment to sustainability and quality. A wine that invites exploration of Priorat in a gentler, yet equally profound manner.
