About Martivillí Verdejo

Martivillí Verdejo is a white wine from the Rueda produced by Angel Lorenzo Cachazo, a winery that was founded in 1988 in Pozaldez (Valladolid).

The climate in this area is Mediterranean but with a clear continental influence. It is characterized by long, cold winters, short springs and hot dry summers. The large temperature difference between day and night is the secret of balance between the sugar and acidity of the grapes. This wine is a varietal Verdejo (100%) from 45 hectares of vineyards planted on trellises, situated at 700 and 800 meters above sea level. The land on which the vines are planted is rich in calcium and magnesium, stony soils that promote aeration and rain drainage. The grape harvest is done mechanically using new technologies. Mechanical harvesting is done at night to avoid oxidation of musts.

2011 Very nice and fresh Rueda white wine. Fruity wine with a tasty, soft and light mid palate. Very good acidity. Light bitter finish reminiscent of persistent herbal hints.

Marked varietal aromas, with lots of intense and marked notes of stone fruit, mixed with delicate aromas of exotic fruits and refreshing citrus. An elegant herbaceous background rounds out this wine.
2010 Very fresh and pleasant with a soft and tasty mid palate. Balanced acidity. Good and persistent finish which leaves a touch of herbs and the bitterness typical of Verdejo wines.
