About Mas Llunes Esventat Tinto

In Empordà, in Girona (Catalonia), saying someone is "esventat" refers to someone who has experienced the force of the Tramuntana—a northern, dry, powerful wind—and is never quite the same. There is a touch of madness in that word, yes, but also a sense of freedom, authenticity, of going against the grain without seeking permission.

At Mas Llunes, a family winery in Garriguella with deep roots in the land, they are well acquainted with that northern force. The Tramuntana not only shapes the landscape; it also forges the character of those who live under its influence. This is evident in the wines. Under its influence, the vines grow healthier, the grapes mature with balance, and the wine acquires a special energy.

From this philosophy emerges Mas Llunes Esventat, a red wine that—like its name—defies convention. Made 100% from organic garnacha tinta, hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts from the vineyard itself, and without adding sulfites at any stage of the process. The vinification is meticulously controlled at a low temperature, and gently remontaged for 25 days to extract only the best.

Mas Llunes Esventat is a direct, vibrant, and fresh wine. A red wine that, like someone who has endured the Tramuntana, emerges more authentic than ever.
