When you think of an emerald, the first thing that springs to mind is its captivating allure: that intense green, brimming with light and depth, seemingly imbued with life itself. Yet the emerald is not merely a gemstone; it is a symbol. In ancient times, it was believed to embody eternal youth, unfading freshness, and enduring purity.

Inspired by this very essence, the winery Mas Llunes, nestled in the heart of Empordà, brings forth its wine Maragda Blanco—“maragda” meaning emerald in Catalan. And like the gem it is named after, this wine is crafted with the aim of capturing youth in its freshest and most radiant form.

Mas Llunes is a family-run winery with deep roots in viticulture, cultivating its own vineyards for generations. Surrounded by the Mediterranean landscape and the slate soils of the Alt Empordà, it blends tradition with technology, with the clear objective of producing wines with soul, true reflections of their environment and people.

Mas Llunes Maragda Blanco is a young, luminous, and elegant wine. It is crafted from garnacha blanca and macabeo, sourced from 25-year-old vineyards cultivated organically on slate soils. The harvest is carried out by hand, selecting only the finest grapes. After destemming, the grapes are gently pressed without maceration to extract only the most delicate free-run juice. This juice ferments for 30 days at a controlled temperature (15°C) to preserve its primary aromas of fruits and flowers to the fullest. Finally, before bottling, the wine is cold-stabilised at -3°C, maintaining all its natural vivacity.

The result is Mas Llunes Maragda Blanco, a youthful, pure, and expressive white wine that with every sip reminds us why the emerald has always been a symbol of eternal youth.
