About Masia Carreras Negre

A great example of wine from Empordà. Masia Carreras Negre is a crianza red wine from D.O. Empordà made by Cellar Martí Fabra from grapes of the Grenache, Carignan, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah varieties from vineyards between 50 and 80 years old.

The wine is produced in the traditional method and is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. It stays in the bottle for a few months in underground cellars before being released onto the market. It is recommended decanting this wine approximately two hours before drinking.
2008 Good and very wide attack. Long, mellow and very pleasant mid palate. The notes of fruit, cocoa and its surprising balsamic hints are noticed along with a touch of sweet spices.  Very tasty Spanish wine with an excellent acidity and very well integrated tannins.  A balanced and perfectly structured red wine. Long and persistent finish. A deep, seductive and highly aromatic red wine with its own personality.

Dark and deep cherry colour with violet edges. A high robe wine with a very bright aspect. Dense and unctuous, slow-falling tears.

Highly aromatic, expressive and powerful aromas with fine toasted notes at first stage. Once it opens up, abundant notes of very ripe black fruit and jam are noticed along with aromas of chocolate, coffee, sweet spices and tobacco. Its good mineral background completes a very complex and nice aromatic set.
2006 Wine with a good and very wide attack and a long, soft and very nice mid palate. Its notes of fruit and cocoa and its amazing balsamic aromas are released along with notes of sweet species. It is a very tasty wine with an excellent acidity and well integrated tannins. It is balanced and has a perfectly structure and a long and persistent finish. A deep wine with its own personality, seductive and very aromatic.

Intense dark cherry colour with violet edges. High and bright robe and dense slow-falling tears.

Very aromatic and powerful aromas with elegant toasted notes in the foreground. Once it opens up, a great load of notes of ripe black fruit, almost jam, is released along with plenty of chocolate, coffee, sweet spices and tobacco. Its good mineral background completes the nose of this enjoyable wine.
2005 The palate is flavourful, powerful and concentrated.

Bright cherry colour with garnet edges.

Warm scents with character, with hints of candied fruit, spices and chocolate.
