About Tirrenico Maremma Toscana Rosso

Located along the western coast of Italy, the Tyrrhenian Sea derives its name from Tyrrhenus, a prince of the Etruscans. A figure from ancient history whose people landed on the southern coast of Tuscany owing to its strategic position and flourished as a civilization. In honor of this sea, which has played a pivotal role in culture and society throughout history, the esteemed Mazzei family, lifelong wine merchants, dedicate a wine.

Tirrenico Maremma Toscana Rosso is a charismatic blend from indigenous vineyards that face the sea and benefit from its breezes. Vines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot are cultivated in a traditional manner and harvested at the peak of ripeness. In the winery, once the grapes are selected and destemmed, fermentation takes place at a steady temperature of 28-30°C, followed by a maceration with the skins for 16-18 days. Subsequently, the wine matures for 12 months in 225-liter French oak barriques before bottling.

The result is Tirrenico Maremma Toscana Rosso, a wine from one of the grand Tuscan estates, whose sea breeze endows it with a fresh savoriness and aromatic richness, transporting us to a bygone era of glory.
