Mendall La Torre 2023 is a red wine renowned for its vivacity and pronounced fruity essence. On the nose, it exudes robust scents of cherries and raspberries, complemented by a delicate hint of violets. Upon tasting, its youthfulness is immediately apparent, with a burst of red fruit enveloping the palate, coupled with a zesty acidity that renders it exceptionally invigorating. About Mendall La Torre

To say that someone lives the landscape is to acknowledge their profound connection with the natural environment that surrounds them. This bond transcends the physical to encompass an intimate and emotional relationship with the land, flora, climate, and biodiversity of the area. In the case of Laureano Serres Montagut, the embodiment of natural wine in Terra Alta, Catalonia, he not only cultivates the land but feels, understands, and reveres it. Across his 6 hectares of vineyards scattered throughout the municipality of Pinell de Brai, he lives in harmony with the landscape, a harmony reflected in his sustainable agricultural practices and in the authentic quality of his wines. Under the brand Mendall, a name once given to his mother's house, he offers pure and expressive wines that capture the unique essence of the local terroir.

One such wine, Mendall La Torre, is a red wine crafted from various grape varieties found within the plot. A high percentage of Garnacha Tinta is complemented by small contributions from Macabeo, Garnacha Blanca, Cariñena, Moscatel, and Garnacha Gris. Vines aged 5-8 years are planted in clay-limestone soil and are cultivated according to ecological principles and biodynamic treatments. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed and macerated for 5 days. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is aged for 2 months in the same tanks and a further 3 months in amphorae.
