About Mía Freixenet Tinto

Mía Freixenet Tinto is a red wine, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla, produced by Freixenet.

 

Freixenet is one of the most popular cava brands. Its history goes back to 1961, when the Sala family started to produce still wines. However, it was not until 1911, when the heiress of Casa Sala married the youngest of the Ferrer de la Freixeda family, that they started to make sparkling wines using the traditional method, like the one used for Champagne. In 1914, the first bottle of sparkling wine is launched on the market, under the brand Freixenet.

Currently, Freixenet is a winemaking group with more than 20 brands around Spain, France, United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Australia. They have a production of more than 114 million bottles per year, and they export to more than 150 countries.

 

Mía Freixenet Tinto is a wine made from Tempranillo that comes from Castilla la Mancha.

Once the grapes are harvested, they ferment in stainless steel deposits with temperature control, and a maceration with the skins. It is bottled without ageing.
