About Muga Blanco

Muga Fermentado en Barrica Blanco is a white wine from the DOCa Rioja, crafted by Bodegas Muga.
The winery is situated in the historic Barrio de La Estación, in the town of Haro (Rioja Alta), a place renowned in the wine world for the exceptional quality of its wines and the concentration of century-old wineries it boasts. A unique place in the world.

Muga Blanco is a superb Rioja blend of viura and malvasía. The addition of the latter variety imparts surprising freshness and fruitiness. Both varieties come from vineyards planted on clay-limestone and alluvial soils.

In its production, Muga Blanco undergoes an 8-hour maceration in the press. Subsequently, the wine ferments in new French oak barrels where it rests on its lees for several months. With Muga Blanco, Bodegas Muga presents us with a remarkable white wine, full of freshness and vivacity.

Muga Blanco 2022 is a defined white wine with aromas of white fruit, floral notes and hints of citrus. On the palate it is fresh, lively and balanced. This wine is more citric than sweet, with a rich natural acidity, an unctuous mid-palate and an elegant and energetic persistence.

Muga Blanco 2019 is a sculpted white wine boasting an impressive bouquet of aromatic herbs, nuances of stone fruit and citrus, complemented by subtle hints of toast. On the palate, it is fresh, silky, and well-balanced. This wine features invigorating acidity and a lengthy, delightful finish.
2014 The entry is very expressive with fruit and a presence of wood. A silky smooth passage. The final taste is pleasant and persistent.

Intense white fruit, nuanced by herbal touches. When opened, citrus and green fruit are detected. Mellow background.
2013 White wine with a very good attack full of very expressive notes of fruit but with a higher presence of wood. Soft, light and silky with creamy and embracing notes of fruit with many nuances. Very good acidity but not as marked as in previous vintages. Good, very enjoyable and persistent finish. Encourages another sip.

2010 Nice attack and soft mid palate. Intense notes of citrus with light mineral touches. Good finish with a slight bitterness.

Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. Clean and bright. Slow tears.

Aromas with good intensity. The predominant notes of white fruit (pear, green apple) are released along with citrus aromas. When the wine opens up, the ripe fruit emerge with a tropical touch and some note ofv anilla and flowers. A subtle hint of honey is also noticed.
2009 The freshness that lingers in the mouth, citrus those who live, of that passion that transmit its entirety. A white magic, very fruity.
