About Muruve Crianza

Muruve Crianza is a red wine from Toro produced by Frutos Villar. This winery, founded in 1920 and located in the town of Toro (Zamora), was the first to produce wines in Toro.

Muruve Crianza is 100% made from the typical variety of Tinta de Toro. The grapes come from 115ha of vineyards.

The development of this red wine starts with a total stripping of the grapes and traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C, which lasts between 12 and 15 days and has 3 movements per day.

After the fermentation process, the wine is aged for 8-12 months in American oak barrels (95%) and French oak barrels (5%) and is racked every three months.

Finally, Muruve Crianza rests at least 6 months in its bottle, in a warehouse where the temperature is below 18 ° C.

Muruve Crianza 2019 unveils a tapestry of scents reminiscent of an autumnal forest stroll: sweet vanilla, velvety toffee, sumptuous chocolate, and a hint of freshly ground coffee. Beneath these, ink and well-worn leather notes emerge, intricately woven with ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, and a gentle whisper of licorice. Upon tasting, its voluptuous and fleshy texture envelops the palate, delivering flavors that mirror its aromatic balsamic and spiced bouquet. This red wine is tenacious and concentrated, leaving an enduring impression.

Muruve Crianza 2017 is a robust red wine. The bouquet evokes vanilla, chocolate, toffee, coffee, and leather, underscored by fruity notes and licorice. On the palate, it is well-rounded and meaty, exceptionally flavorful, with spiced and fruity undertones. It boasts a lingering finish.
2011 Powerful and enveloping entry. Tasty toasted memories. Good acidity with well integrated tannins. Complex and persistent.

Intense ruby with garnet rim. Clean and bright.

Medium-high aromatic intensity. Presence of ripe fruit with toast and balsamic notes. Background is spicy.
2010 This wine shows lots of character in the mouth. It's tasty and broad with perfectly balanced tannins. Very persistent. Complex and fine sensations from its ageing are felt at retro-olfaction.
