About Oliver Conti Indispensable Blanc

Butterflies, in addition to being exquisite and intriguing creatures, play a vital role in the ecological balance of vineyards. They are, in fact, invaluable allies for vintners, as most are efficient pollinators, contribute to the natural pest control, and reduce the need for pesticides. Moreover, being sensitive to environmental changes, they serve as indicators of the health and diversity of an ecosystem. Jordi Oliver Conti, a prominent advocate for premium wines from the DO Empordà (Catalonia), is acutely aware that the presence of butterflies in the vineyard is a clear sign of a balanced and healthy environment, and it is for this reason that he has chosen to pay tribute to them.

Featuring an endearing label of a butterfly perched on a dog’s nose, Oliver Conti Indispensable Blanc is a blend of white grape varieties Macabeo, Sauvignon Blanc, Garnacha Blanca, and Muscat of Alexandria. Sourced from the 15 hectares he owns in the municipality of Capmany (Empordà), these grapes are traditionally cultivated to yield healthy, high-quality fruit. In the winery, the grapes are carefully selected, destemmed, and pressed, and the resulting must ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.

This is how Oliver Conti Indispensable Blanc is crafted, a youthful, vibrant wine brimming with nuances. A wise blend of white varieties that not only highlights the role of butterflies but also evokes the beautiful moments of life.
