About Oliver Conti Indispensable Rosat

Life is not merely black or white. Between these polar opposites lies a vast spectrum of grey shades, each with its light and dark nuances. Similarly, the wine world is not a dichotomy of white or red. In between, there is a plethora of rosés, among which Oliver Conti Indispensable Rosat stands out.

This youthful wine, crafted from Grenache grapes without ageing, serves as an excellent introduction to the wines produced in Cataluña, within the esteemed D.O. Ampordá. It is here, in this region steeped in viticultural history, that Oliver Conti and its 15 hectares in the village of Capmany originate all of their wines. The soil, abundant in granite and scant in organic matter, is meticulously cultivated by this winemaker, who has from the outset placed a significant bet on this northwestern area of Spain. Few Grenache vines thrive as they do here in the Alt Empordá, nestled near the Pyrenees, where the Tramuntana wind and the sea breezes can be felt. Consequently, the wines produced here are distinctive, boasting an elegance that is a rare find elsewhere. It would be a true misfortune to squander the fruits of many months of toil in the fields, which is why Oliver Conti Indispensable Rosat is handled with extra care and attention within the winery.

The winemaking process begins by exclusively fermenting the free-run juice. This means that after the harvest, the grapes of Oliver Conti Indispensable Rosat are pressed very gently, exerting minimal force, to obtain a high-quality juice with scarcely any remnants of the grape skins. Only through this method can a superior fermentation be achieved. This will be followed by a maceration period, during which the juice remains in contact with the grape skins, endowing Oliver Conti Indispensable Rosat with character, aroma, and body.
