About Oremus Mandolás Furmint Sec

Oremus Mandolás Furmint Seco is a single-variety Furmint wine produced by the Oremus winery in Tokaj, Hungary.

Mandolás is the old name for the vineyards where the grapes used to make this Oremus Mandolás Furmint Seco wine come from. These grapes are harvested when they reach optimum ripeness and when they reach the winery, they are gently and delicately pressed to create a high density must that ferments in wooden barrels for 8 to 12 days.

The resulting wine ages in small barrels that are typical of the area and have a capacity of 136 litres. Whilst in the barrels, a careful and regular battonage is carried out.

Oremus Mandolás Furmint Seco is a white wine that breaks mould in favour of a modern twist on the traditional Furmint variety. This wine is made by the excellent Tempos Vega Sicilia firm, which promises quality, and honours its roots in Tokaj, a region known around the world for its extraordinary sweet wines and where dry white wines are now offering something new and interesting.

2018 Oremus Mandolás Furmint Seco 2018 is an aromatic white wine that offers aromas of white fruits on the nose accompanied by citrus and mineral nuances. On the palate it is unctuous, with a fresh acidity and all the fruity notes are reaffirmed. The finish is reminiscent of apricots. This is an elegant white wine with an excellent aging potential.
