About Valtuille de Abajo Vino de Villa

Valtuille de Abajo Vino de Villa is a red wine produced by Vinos Valtiille with Mencía grapes, the star variety of the D.O. Bierzo.

This winery was created when the García Alba wine.growing family stopped selling their crops in bulk in order to focus on producing their own wines. Located right on the Camino de Santiago, Vinos Valtuille cultivate a total area of 12 hectares of vineyards and have an annual production of about 80,000 bottles. They have over 100 plots with different soils, altitudes and orientations to choose from, depending on the requirements of the wine.
Valtuille de Abajo Vino de Villa is made from the Mencía grapes that grow in Valdoneje's oldest vineyards; strains that are over 85 years old, and whose fruit is picked by hand into 5 kilo boxes and carefully selected. 

The alcoholic fermentation for Valtuille de Abajo Vino de Villa is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature lower than 28ºC. It remains in French oak barrels for 5 months.

Pago de Valdoneje Viñas Viejas is a red wine whose Mencía is well treated from start to finish.

2016 Pago de Valdoneje Viñas Viejas 2016 is a concentrated wine with aromas of black fruit and spicy elements, and with balsamic touches; characteristics that are recalled on the palate with a persistent finish.
