About Perelada Finca La Garriga Samsó

In the municipality of Mollet de Perelada, within the province of Girona (northeast of Spain), lies the finca La Garriga, a 41-hectare expanse of flat, silty-clay and gravel terrain where the oldest vines of Peralada are found. From these vineyards, over 50 years old, emerges Perelada Finca La Garriga. 
 
Perelada Finca La Garriga is a single-variety samsó (the local name for carinyena) cultivated with utmost respect, always striving for the fullest expression of the DO Empordà. It is noteworthy that the principal characteristic of this region is its remarkable diversity of soils, making it one of the most fascinating wine territories on the peninsula. 
 
The grapes of Perelada Finca La Garriga are harvested, transported to the winery, and crushed before being transferred to stainless steel tanks where they ferment (always at a controlled temperature). After fermentation, Perelada Finca La Garriga is racked, pressed, and transferred again to American oak barrels where it will age for over a year. However, this is not the end. Once bottled, Perelada Finca La Garriga will rest further in the bottle until it is ready for the market.

Perelada Finca La Garriga 2021 is a wine that captivates with its profound character. Perelada Finca La Garriga Samsó 2018 unfurls with an elegant poise. 2011 Fresh and tasty. Fruity and balsamic notes. Good acidity and good body. A very nice wine.

Intense ripe cherry with violet touches. Middle layer and very good tear.

Clean and intense aromas. Copious notes of red fruit and toasted and sweet flavours. The mineral and balsamic background makes it balanced.
2010 Very fresh, tasty and enjoyable. Juicy fruit fills the mouth along with creamy woods and fresh balsamic notes. Correct acidity and some tannins present. Good body, with a good feeling in the mouth and a fruity, toasted finished. A seductive wine.

Intense ripe cherry colour with a violet rim. Clean and bright. Medium-robe. Nice tears show on the glass.

Intense and clean aromas witha high concentration of ripe red fruit mixed with noticeable, fine tannins and lots of sweet spices. Big mineral and balsamic background. Very balanced and aromatic.
2007 Very fresh, tasty and very nice wine which coats the mouth with juicy notes of fruit, creamy oak aromas and very fresh balsamic hints. It has a correct acidity and still noticeable tannins. A full-bodied wine with a very good mid palate that finishes with pleasant hints of fruit and toasted aromas.  A wine that will seduce us!

2006 It's fresh, round, balanced and very palatable. Rounded tannins and envelopes.

Floral aroma also reminded of ripe red fruits, very well combined with spicy notes of fine breeding.
