About Petit Siós

Petit Siós is a red wine made by the Costers del Sio winery, located in the county of Noguera, in the town of Balaguer. It belongs to the D.O Costers del Segre.

This wine is made from Tempranillo (45%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Grenache (15%). All come from vineyards planted and cultivated by the winery itself.

The vineyards are planted in heterogeneous soils, which are shallow and poor in organic matter, at an altitude of 310 metres. They are grown in Mediterranean climate with continental influences. The development of the Petit Siós begins separately with each variety during September and October. The wine maceration takes place cold and alcoholic fermentation is done at 22 ° C for 15 days.

Finally, the wine spends four months in French barrels of 300 litres. The wines of Costers de Sio have a proven track record. The vintage 2012 of Petit Siós was honoured in 2014 with the Baccus de Oro, the Spanish Union of Tasters.
