About Pinna Fidelis Verdejo

Pinna Fidelis Verdejo is a young white wine made by Pinna Fidelis with the Verdejo variety in the D.O. Rueda denomination (Castilla y León).
 
Pinna Fidelis is a winery that was set up in 2001 in the town of Peñafiel, next to the Duero river. They own 200 hectares of land in the Ribera de Duero and Rueda area and the winery began with the aim of producing modern, high-quality wines using local varieties like the Tinta del País and Verdejo.
 
Pinna Fidelis Verdejo comes from their own vineyards in the same town as well as neighbouring towns. These vines are planted in limestone soils that enjoy great temperature variation with very cold winters and very hot summers. The harvest is carried out manually and at night to avoid oxidation.
 
In the winery, the Pinna Fidelis Verdejo grapes undergo cryomaceration and are then gently pressed. The resulting must is cold settled and alcoholic fermentation takes place at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then kept on its lees for 2 months and then clarified and bottled. 
 
Pinna Fidelis Verdejo is a very aromatic white wine that is made to suit today’s tastes; the Verdejo variety still proves very popular.
