About Ponte da Boga Albariño

Ponte da Boga Albariño is a white wine made in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra by Ponte da Boga with the Albariño variety.

Influenced by the Sil river and protected by the Grand Canyon, Ponte da Boga is located in a privileged winemaking area in Terra de Caldelas. In 2005, the winery became part of Corporación Hijos de Rivera who have managed to make the most of such a challenging landscape to produce wines that are worthy of the name.

Ponte da Boga Albariño comes from vineyards planted on slate soils at an altitude of over 500 metres above sea level. Using traditional methods, they practice heroic viticulture; no machinery can be used on this land, so all the work is manual. The harvest is carried out when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

Once in the winery, the Ponte da Boga Albariño grapes undergo cold skin-contact maceration and a gentle pressing. Then the must begins to ferment, mostly in stainless steel tanks with a smaller amount in oak barrels. Finally, it ages on lees for 6 months in a steel tank.

Ponte da Boga Albariño is a fragrant and lively white wine that reveals the full minerality and freshness provided by the peculiar Ribeira Sacra landscape.

2018 Ponte da Boga Albariño 2018 is an aromatic white wine with fragrant notes of citrus, stone fruits and tropical fruits with a herbaceous background. Thanks to its acidity, the palate is fresh, lively, flavoursome and very persistent.
