Portia Prima La Encina 2022 is a red wine that exudes a contemporary elegance, with aromas of ripe blackberries, violets and a whisper of liquorice intertwined with notes of vanilla and fine spices. On the palate, it is both firm and silky, with polished tannins and a freshness that upholds its depth. About Portia Prima

Portia Prima is a red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero produced by the Portia winery. This wine is made using only Tempranillo grapes.

The grapes used to make Portia Prima are taken exclusively from the Pago del Pino estate that is situated at about 750 metres above sea level. Following years of winemaking experience in the region, the harvest and winemaking processes are carried out using conventional methods.

Once they have arrived at the winery, the grapes are passed through a selection table, where only the best quality grapes are selected to make the wine.

Following this, alcoholic fermentation is carried out in tanks in controlled conditions at a constant temperature of 28ºC. After this phase, the must then undergoes malolactic fermentation in new french oak barrels. Portia Prima then ages for 15 months in the same oak barrels.

Portia is a riojan company which forms part of the Grupo Faustino. Its spectacular facilities, designed by Norman Foster, are one of the most visited in the Ribera del Duero region year after year.
