About Protos Clarete

Have you never been particularly fond of rosés? Forewarned is forearmed, and we alert you now that by the end of this text, your opinion of rosés will have changed. The sole reason for this will be Protos Clarete. 
 
From the DO.Cigales comes this wine with which Bodegas Protos once again lives up to its name (Protos in Greek means First). Once more, this winery takes the lead with this creation where tempranillo is blended with various other varieties. This blend varies according to the vintage, but what remains unwavering is the quality that establishes Protos Clarete as a benchmark among its kind. 
 
The origins of Protos Clarete are to be found on the slopes of this region in the central-north of Spain, where viticulturists have been cultivating vines (some up to 80 years old) on predominantly limestone, infertile soils for decades. The harvest, conducted at night, employs machinery. Once at the winery, the finest bunches are selected on a sorting table, from where they proceed directly to a cold maceration, with the must spending approximately 16 hours in contact with the grapes. This step maximises the varietal aromas of the grape, resulting in extraordinary outcomes. Protos Clarete will ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature before being bottled.

2022 Protos Clarete 2022 is a rosé wine that reveals an interesting intensity on the nose with aromas of strawberries and fresh raspberries. On the palate, it has a fresh and sweet entry, reaffirming the presence of red fruits. A wine of great balance, with a persistent and fruity finish.
2019 Protos Clarete is a fresh rosé wine with intense red fruit aromas. On the palate it is sweet, fruity and very balanced. It has a very pleasant mid-palate with integrated acidity and a persistent finish.

2009 It has a very fresh palate with a soft and dry mid palate marked by the strong notes of red fruit. Live acidity and a good finish with fruity aftertaste.
