About Puerta Vieja Crianza

Puerta Vieja Crianza is a red wine from D.O.Ca. Rioja produced by Bodegas Riojanas in Cenicero.

 

This wine is made from Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. The grapes come from farms located in the towns of Cenicero and San Vicente de la Sonsierra. After the grapes are harvested, they are destemmed and crushed.

Puerta Vieja Crianza ferments with the use of new control technologies and then it goes through a long maceration period.

Puerta Vieja Crianza finally ages for 18 months in new American oak barrels. Before it is launched on the market, this wine is aged for another six months in the bottle.

 

Bodegas Riojanas was born in 1890, when the Artacho family, with a long winegrowing tradition, joined Rafael Carreras.

The different corners of the winery transmit passion, tradition and history at all times.

On the nose, it offers intense aromas of strawberries and cherries, complemented by notes of toasted wood, spices, and a hint of vanilla.
