About Rapitalà Rosammuri Rosato

Tenuta Rapitalà Rosammuri Rosato is a rosé wine from the Tenuta Rapitalà winery made in the IGT Terre Siciliane with the native Nerello Mascalese varieties.

Tenuta Rapitalà was set up in 1968 by Frenchman Hugues Berbard and his Palerman wife Gigi Guarrasi when they inherited a winery in Sicily that had been destroyed by an earthquake and decided to rebuild it using native varieties. Their wines are the union of a Sicilian soul and French methodology and in no time at all, they have found themselves among the five most prominent producers on the island. Currently, their son Laurent is carrying the baton of this wine adventure, using more sustainable practices and state-of-the-art technologies.

Tenuta Rapitalà Rosammuri Rosato comes from vineyards grown using the traditional Guyot system in Camporeale in the province of Palermo. These are vineyards planted in clay soils, at an altitude of between 300-400 metres above sea level using conventional agriculture. The strains are harvested strictly by hand and early enough that they contain a good level of acidity and freshness.

When the Tenuta Rapitalà Rosammuri Rosato grapes reach the winery, they are gently pressed and the must is immediately left in contact with the skins for a few hours. Then, the cold temperature static decanting method is used and fermentation is carried out with selected yeasts at a constant temperature.

2018 Tenuta Rapitala Rosammuri Rosato 2018 is a bright pink rosé wine with floral aromas of geranium and rose and fruity aromas of strawberry and raspberry with light mineral touches. On the palate it is dry and fruity with refreshing acidity.
