About Revancha Malbec

Revancha Malbec is a wood-aged red wine aged made by the Revancha Wines Argentinean winery in Mendoza with the leading Malbec variety.

Revancha Wines is run by Roberto de la Mota, a winemaker who trained in Montpellier and worked for one of the most prestigious wineries in Argentina before fulfilling his dream of making his own wines. This winery beautifully showcases the character of Mendoza with unique wines with great concentration and complexity.

Revancha Malbec comes from vines planted on sandy, loamy soil and limestone blocks, lying at 1,100 metres above sea level. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and yields are limited to 6,000 kg/ha.

When the Revancha Malbec grapes have been manually harvested, they ferment in small 50 hl tanks with a 25 day maceration. The wine is then pneumatically pressed at low pressure and undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, where it stays for 12 months.

Roberto de la Mota, one of the Argentinian winemaking legends, reveals his most personal production with this Revancha Malbec wine. Fruit and complexity of an exceptional terroir.

 

2018

Revancha Malbec 2018 is a concentrated red wine with intense aromas of red fruit with notes of lilac flowers and hints of spice. On the palate it is oily, meaty and full-bodied. The tannins are silky and its acidity brings freshness and the desire to keep sipping. The finish is long and persistent with balsamic touches.
