Rioja Bordón Reserva 2018 boasts an alluring mature cherry hue with ruby highlights. On the nose, it stands out for its sophistication, revealing aromas of red fruits like cherries and raspberries, alongside notes of jam, toffee, chocolate, and cocoa, as well as aromatic herbs and a hint of cedar and spices. On the palate, it presents a good structure and balance, with a broad and elegant passage. Its finish is mature and serious, leaving an aromatic aftertaste of great finesse and a concentrated profile.

About Rioja Bordón Reserva

Rioja Bordón Reserva from Bodegas Franco-Españolas is a red wine made with Tempranillo, Red Grenache and Mazuelo, three traditional varieties from DOCa. Rioja.

Bodegas Franco-Españolas was founded in 1890, when the phylloxera disease invaded France and its winemakers were forced to look for new vineyards in La Rioja. As a result of this union, "fine Rioja wines" began to be produced; productions to which the most modern winemaking techniques of the time were applied and which resulted in wines that were applauded all over the world. The legacy continues today.

Rioja Bordón Reserva is the result of three varieties from three Rioja territories (Alta, Alavesa and Oriental): three distinct sub-areas with a specific climate and soil that endow each of the varieties with specific qualities.

Once the harvest is complete, the bunches are destemmed and selected. After a gentle pressing, Rioja Bordón Reserva undergoes alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The ageing takes place in barrels of medium-toasted American white oak and French oak for 18 months. To aid natural clarification, decanting is performed every 6 months.

Rioja Bordón Reserva 2016 is unveiled with a subtle charm, wherein ripe red fruit is interwoven with glimmers of toffee and a hint of chocolate, culminating in a gentle waft of cedarwood. On the palate, it is structured and balanced, providing a flavorful and fruity tasting experience, with spiced notes that lend elegance. Its breadth is complemented by a mature and concentrated finish, leaving a pleasant and lingering sensation.
2013 Rioja Bordón Reserva 2013 has complex aromas of ripe fruit and the presence of roasted and spicy elements. On the palate it is broad and elegant, with a good structure.
