About Románico

Románico is a red wine from Toro produced by Bodega Teso La Monja. It is a varietal Tinta de Toro.

The grapes used comes from low yielding old vines located in the municipalities of Valdefinjas and Toro, Zamora.

The land is cultivated with respect for the environment by applying the minimum possible interventions when working in the vineyard. They avoid using herbicides or systemic products. After the manual harvest, the grapes are chosen so that they are in optimal ripening conditions with the help of a double ribbon selection.

The wine is made using traditional methods. Románico finally spends six months aging in French oak barrels.

Teso La Monja is owned by the Eguren family and, in just five years, has managed to become a winery among the best in Spain. It is indeed a benchmark of Toro.

2018

Románico 2018 is a succulent red wine, brimming with aromas of red fruits, undertones of chocolate, and hints of lavender. On the palate, it is smooth-flowing, featuring well-rounded tannins and a delightfully fruity flavor profile. This wine is accentuated with fresh citrus notes and culminates in a harmoniously pleasing finish.

2016 Románico 2016 is a fresh, easy to drink and smooth wine. A fantastic price for pleasure in this Tinta de Toro made by the Eguren brothers.
2015 Románico 2015: The Eguren make this wine in the search for lightness and fluidity in a very good vintage that allowed an optimum ripening of the grape bunches. One of the Tinta de Toro wines with most freshness and with an incredible price for pleasure.
2013 Sleek and with body. Good acidity, with ripe and pleasant tannins. Long and persistent finish and great value.

Cherry red with violet hues. Intense and vivid, high layer and strong tear.

High intensity. Aromas of black berries, hints of spice and dairy. Background notes from the barrel.
2011 In the mouth this elegant wine shows a silky, well-bodied and at the same time light mid-palate. It has a good acidity which provides freshness and a tannic sensation produced by its ripe and pleasant tannins. Long and persistent finish. Excellent value (and pleasure) for money.

Intense and lively cherry red colour with violet reflections. A wine with a high robe and abundant tears which stain the glass.

High intensity nasal aromas. Its intense aromas of black berries, its spicy notes and its milky hints appear on a background of nice and subtle aromas of noble wood.
2010 In the mouth, it is elegant, full-medium bodied, with a great acidity which gives freshness, ripe and pleasant tannins. Long and persistent finish. Magnificent value (and pleasure) for money.
