About Saltimbanqui Verdejo

Saltimbanqui 2018 is a single-variety white wine from the D.O. Rueda made with the Verdejo variety by Aribau.

Saltimbanqui came from a desire to create a wine with the Aribau identity, a family business with more than 50 years of experience in the wine sector. To do this, they began searching for a good winemaker to take on the project at the end of 2007. They put their trust in Javier Sanz from the beginning, and in 2012 he revealed the wine’s first vintage, through the Aribau Company’s innovative vision. It was young, straightforward and very bright.

The Saltimbanqui grapes come from vines that are born and raised in Rueda. A denomination that is characterised by a Mediterranean climate with a continental influence and gravelly soils. These are some of the best conditions for growing the region’s quintessential variety: Verdejo.

The harvest is carried out when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. After the Saltimbanqui grapes have been selected in the vineyard, they are destemmed in the winery to macerate with the skins for 12 hours. Then only the free-run juice is separated to be racked and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.

Saltimbanqui is young and very bright. An easy-to-drink white wine that reminds us how much joy we get from simple, but well-made things.

2021

Saltimbanqui Verdejo 2021 is a vivacious and light-hearted white wine. Olfactorily, it's vibrant and articulate, redolent with hints of exotic fruit (grapefruit, pineapple), floral essences, anise, and fennel. On the palate, it's dry, of medium body and invigoratingly crisp. It boasts a rejuvenating acidity, underscored by mineral nuances. Eminently quaffable.

2019

Saltimbanqui Verdejo 2019 is a white wine sculpted with aromas of white fruit and herbaceous undertones. On the palate, it is zesty, lively, and fruit-forward. This wine boasts a vigorous acidity and a tantalizing finish.
2018 Saltimbanqui 2018 is an aromatic white wine with intense fragrances of white fruits and tropical fruits and a floral and herbaceous background. On the palate it is dry and refreshing with good acidity and delicate mineral notes.
2014 Good input. Fruity, light and silky. Good acidity and comprehensive aftertaste.

Pale yellow with greenish hues. Clean and bright.

Medium-high intensity. Varietal aromas and notes of white fruit. A tropical floral background.
2012 Good attack and light and silky mid-palate. Great load of fruit. Great acidity. Long finish which gives way to fruity sensations.

Medium-high intensity, very fragrant wine which gives off varietal aromas, plenty of white fruit and tropical notes on a pleasant floral background.
