About Sameirás Blanco

Sameirás Blanco is a wine from the D.O Ribeiro region produced by Adega Antonio Cajide, a winery situated in Ribadavia founded by Antonio Cajide, the son of winemakers. The principal aim of the winery was to recover their ancestors way of working, age old vineyards and native grape varities.

The area is home to an oceanic-Mediterranean climate, characterized by wet conditions and warm temperatures. The mountains act as a natural barrier and protect the territory from storms. The average for anual rainfall is around 950 mm, however during the months when the grapes are ripening, rainfall is scarce.

This wine is a blend of Treixadura (55%), Albariño (20%), Godello (10%), Lado (8%), Loureira, Torrontés and Caiño Blanco (7%) grape varieties. The vineyards, which belong to the winery, are situated between 75-400 metres above sea level on valleys and hillsides. The vineyards are planted on terraces.

As for the winemaking process, cold maceration takes place and the wine remains on it´s lees. Following this, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 25ºC.

2017 Sameirás Blanco 2017 is a creamy white wine with structure and freshness. In this vintage, the aromas of white stone fruit stand out, with floral notes and a touch of dry grass. In the mouth, it is ample and silky, with a long and fresh finish.
2013 Upon tasting, it reveals a broad, well-structured palate with a subtly sweet undertone. This wine is exceedingly fruit-forward, imbued with vivacity and marked by a well-balanced acidity. It culminates in a lingering finish, suffused with citrus nuances and a delicate bitterness.

It boasts a yellow hue tinged with greenish reflections. The appearance is clear and luminous.

The nose is forthright, unveiling scents of white fruits intermingled with hints of fennel, bay leaf, and freshly mown grass.
