Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Löss is a young white wine made by Schloss Gobelsburg in Niederösterreich (Lower Austria) with the Grüner Veltliner variety.

The origins of Schloss Gobelsburg date back to 1711, when this family was making wine for the Austrian nobility. That is why, being one of the oldest wineries in the Danube area, they are great specialists in displaying all the virtues of the area’s two star varieties: Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.

The Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Löss vineyards sit on the Kamp River slopes, near the village of Gobelsburg. These are sloping terraces of silty soils (Loess), which is what makes this wine particularly elegant. They practice environmentally-friendly agriculture and all the work is carried out manually.

In the winery, the ripe Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Löss grape is selected, destemmed and pressed. It then ferments with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature.

2018 Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Löss 2018 is an aromatic white wine with notes of herbs and lime on the nose and tropical touches. On the palate it is fresh and vibrant. It reveals white fruit, a citric acidity and a timid sweetness.
