About Studio By Miraval Rosé

Although it might seem a bit strange, a large number of Hollywood stars have connections to the world of wine. One example of this is the famous former couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who bought Château Miraval, a winery in French Provence, which they chose as their famous secret wedding venue and summer holiday home. Under the guidance of the renowned Perrin winemaking family, they produce rosé wines that are so glamourous that they have become some of the best-selling rosés in the world. But it seems likely that the creative vibe of the winery dates back many years, because before being owned by the Pitt-Jolie power couple, the famous pianist and composer Jacques Loussier took over the chateau in 1970 to set up a recording studio where greats like Pink Floyd, Sting, AC/DC, Sade and The Cranberries were regular visitors. In honour of this studio, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt launched the Studio By Miraval Rosé, a rosé that evokes a “Joie de vivre” and has won people over all around the world.

Studio By Miraval Rosé comes from the heart of Provence, in the AOC Côtes de Provence. This is a coupage made with the Cinsault, Garnacha, Rolle and Tibouren local native varieties. Planted on clay and limestone soils, these vines are planted on terraces and surrounded by olive and pine trees near the Mediterranean Sea. In the winery the grapes undergo a direct pressing, and vinification happens in batches. The Cinsault and Tibouren varieties are fermented in stainless steel tanks and the Garnacha and Rolle varieties are partially vinified in concrete vats. The result is a very accessible rosé that invites you to experience the most glamorous side of the Mediterranean.

With a delicate pale pink colour, Studio By Miraval Rosé 2020 is a fresh rosé with a citrus, floral and saline nose. On the palate it is refreshing, meaty and very glamorous. A wine strongly influenced by the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea which gives it a unique character. The finish is pleasant and subtly iodised.
