About Suertes del Marqués Candio

The name of the wine comes from the gully that crosses the vineyards. Each plot that forms the estate presents a series of peculiarities that makes it special and unique. Candio comes from the vineyard El Barranco, located at 430-500 metres above sea level oriented to the Northwest. El Barranco is planted with 120-year-old Listán Negro vines trained to a singular multiple cordon system. Once the grapes are partially destemmed and squeezed, they are lodged into opened concrete casks, with 80% of the stem, where the alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously with indigenous yeasts until reaching 32ºC. After a 35-day maceration with manual punching, the wine is racked into small French oak "foudres", where the malolactic fermentation is completed. The process ends with a 16-month ageing in contact with its own lees. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered.

Suertes del Marqués Candio 2017 is a smooth red wine with complex aromas of plums, notes of cocoa and hints of coffee. On the palate it is ample, fruity and elegant. A serious wine with a good tannic structure and a powerful mineral finish. 
2011 Crisp with a fine acidity balance, it boasts a robust character along with a lingering, fruity finish.

Enticing and deeply hued cherry red.

Powerful and intricate. A pronounced presence of black fruits, spicy nuances, and an agreeable mineral undertone.
